Including Lookfantastic £580 of items for £105, Liberty £1,180 of items for £275 & more

Yes, we're talking Advent calendars in September... and yes, I'm feeling as unsettled about it as you are. Yet this is when retailers launch their big beauty Advent calendars, so I've taken a look inside the offerings from Asos, Next, Boots, Liberty and more, to see which give the most beauty for your buck.

Beauty Advent calendars usually aren't cheap (the ones in this blog range from £44 up to £355), but they can be a great way of getting beauty products you'd normally buy, or high-end products you want to try, for much cheaper. You could even split the cost of the calendar with a friend or family member, or split the calendar up to give as gifts throughout the year.

It's important to follow the Money Mantras and ask yourself before buying: Do I need it? Can I afford it? Will I use it? Is it worth it?

13 beauty calendars available to buy now:

I'll be updating this blog with more beauty Advent calendars in the lead up to Christmas, so do bookmark this page if you want to stay up to date.

SOLD OUT Glossybox 2025 Advent Calendar – £90 for £584 of beauty

Glossybox is best known for its monthly beauty box service, however anyone can buy its 2025 Advent calendar. It costs £90, and Glossybox says it would come to £624 if you were to buy the contents inside individually – however based on my calculations it would cost £584, which is still a huge saving of 85%. If you're a Glossybox subscriber, you can get this calendar for £75.

There's a good balance of make-up and skincare in here, and I think the intended audience for this calendar is probably late 20s, early 30s. It includes brands such as ESPA, Natasha Denona, Emma Hardie, and Medik8. It also includes Doctors Formula probiotic lifting & radiance eye serum, which would normally cost an eye-watering £89 (essentially the price of the calendar) for just 15ml – not something many are likely to repurchase at full-price.

SOLD OUT Lookfantastic The Beauty Advent Calendar – £105 for £580 of beauty

A popular online beauty retailer for affordable and high-end products alike, Lookfantastic is a firm favourite for beauty lovers. It says the contents of its beauty Advent calendar* would cost over £655 if you were to buy all the products individually, but I've calculated it to be £580. This means you're saving 82%.

You get 28 products, and there's a distinct wellness theme to this year's offering. While I'm not sure anyone is hoping for a collagen and vitamin supplement behind an Advent calendar door, I'm sure some vitamin C will be a boon once January rolls around. Nine of the products are skincare, and six are make-up items – the highlight of the calendar in my opinion is day 25, where you get a Mac lip trio which would normally set you back £67.

SOLD OUT M&S Advent Calendar – £60 for £289 of beauty

The M&S Advent calendar* is back, and as is the case every year, people are excited. On Thursday 30 October, M&S removed the "minimum spend" requirement of £35 – you can simply buy the calendar for £60, which is far better. The worth of this Advent calendar is great, at a 79% saving.

The contents of the calendar are very classically M&S – if you'd have asked me which brands would be included, I could've given you a very accurate guess. There are 19 brands in the 2025 calendar, 15 of which appeared in the 2024 calendar. Additionally, this year M&S has included own brand items such as a claw clip and a comb, which feels like a bit of a cop out when it's replacing product. Only eight of the products are full sized, and three of those are aforementioned M&S accessories. It also costs £10 more to buy this year, which is disappointing.

This all being said, it's a nice balance of items from some much loved brands. A 79% saving is brilliant, and particularly at a relatively low price point. If you've liked previous M&S Advent calendars, I'm sure you'll like this one too.

SOLD OUT Harvey Nichols Advent Calendar – £250 for £1,108 of beauty

I'm impressed with the Harvey Nichols beauty Advent calendar. The contents is marketed as being 'over £1,000' bought separately, and based on my calculations, it totals £1,108. This means you're saving 77%.

There's a nice balance of skincare, make-up, and hair products from some grand brands such as Augustinus Bader, Eve Lom, and Le Labo. This calendar has 37 items, which is currently the largest number I've seen, and 20 are full sizes. I'm sceptical of how exciting it would be to open the door to a tube of toothpaste, however I'll forgive it based on the strength of the other 36 items.

Vogue Beauty Advent Calendar – £355 for £1,533 of beauty

Now, I do feel like I need to give a disclaimer here that £355 for an Advent calendar is a big luxury, and not affordable for many people. If you can afford it, the Vogue beauty Advent calendar has a saving of 77%, and is a really great option for present splitting. If you've got a number of people you want to buy gifts for, and they're all interested in beauty and accessories, this could actually be a Moneysaving way to do it. The accessories in this calendar (the bracelet, necklace, cashmere beanie, sleep mask, hair clip and french pin) are all great gifting options, as well as the mostly full-size beauty items. I will say, though, a £250 Moschino keychain does feel excessive.

The mix of skincare and beauty is nice, with some stand out brands including La Mer, Sam McKnight, Lisa Eldridge and Charlotte Tilbury. There are some more affordable brands such as Beauty of Joseon and Sol De Janeiro, so repurchasing items is still somewhat realistic.

SOLD OUT Cult Beauty Advent Calendar – £240 for £1,031 of beauty

The Cult Beauty Advent calendar* has really impressed me. It claims it's worth over £1,100, but based on my calculations, the items would cost £1,031 if you were to buy them separately when factoring in current sales, which is strong. There are so many really brilliant brands in this Advent calendar - from the affordable to the high end. There's a really nice balance of makeup and skincare, with some great haircare products, too. With 20 out of the 34 products being full size, this could be a great option for you to have a little pamper, whilst splitting up some products for gifts.

SOLD OUT Liberty Beauty Advent Calendar – £275 for £1,180 of beauty

The Liberty calendar is marketed as 'the original', and it is a cult classic, with many people saving up all year to bag a bargain on some high-end beauty products. It contains 30 items (20 full-size), plus an additional branded drawstring bag.

I have to admit, I was sceptical about Liberty's claim the contents would cost nearly £1,000 more to buy individually than the calendar costs, but based on my calculations, the items inside would cost a whopping £1,180 if you were to buy them separately – not too far off the £1,245 stated by Liberty. That means you're saving 77%.

Something to consider with this one... There are eight perfumes in this calendar, and high-end ones at that. The 'worth' of these perfumes by my calculation is £282, but you're only getting 84ml of product overall. That works out as £3.36 per ml – compare this to a high-end classic such as Chanel No5, where you pay £1.45 per ml... it doesn't seem the best value for money. With perfumes, you're always taking a gamble whether you'll like them, and as they're particularly posh perfumes, you won't get the chance to smell them on the high street – consider whether this is a risk worth taking before buying.

SOLD OUT Space NK Beauty Advent Calendar – £260 for £1,087 of beauty

From my perspective, the Space NK beauty Advent calendar* is the most hyped calendar of the year, and to me, it largely lives up to the hype. You can buy the calendar for £260, and Space NK says the contents would cost £1,150 if bought individually. My calculations make the total £1,108 – a 76% saving.

It's got high-end brands such as Augustinus Bader, Medik8, La Mer, and Rare Beauty. I personally love The Inkey List and The Ordinary, but when there are so many high-end products, they stand out as slightly weaker offerings.

I'm also not entirely sure who this calendar is for – the skincare is targeting over 30s (the Medik8 liquid peptides and the £150 retinol). There's also a nod to younger audiences with viral products such as the Drunk Elephant jelly cleanser, the Sol de Janeiro shower oil, the Glossier lip balm and the Gisou lip oil. This would be an ideal box to split up for presents as you really have distinct areas of separation. I did notice though, that Space NK says to allow up to four weeks for standard delivery... maybe the hype is a bit out of control!

SOLD OUT No7 25 Days of Beauty Advent Calendar – £60 for £237 of beauty

If you're loyal to the brand, or maybe want to sample the Pro Artist range that launched last year, this could be the calendar for you. It's available online now, but won't be launching in stores until Wednesday 1 October.

SOLD OUT Boots 24-day Premium Beauty Advent Calendar – £150 for £559 of beauty

Another offering from Boots, and this one's a particular favourite with this MoneySaver. The 24-day premium Advent calendar* costs £150, with £559 of contents if bought separately – about £54 short of Boots' estimation. This means you're saving 73%.

I'm impressed with the full sizes of some popular brands such as Drunk Elephant, Estee Lauder and Fenty. There's no filler in this calendar as every day has a product from a popular brand, with a good balance between skincare and make-up. There are a couple of hair products and scents, but this calendar's main focus is on premium brands for the face – and it does it well.

SOLD OUT Asos Face + Body Advent Calendar 2025 – £98 for £356 of beauty

Seasoned online shoppers will know Asos can be great for finding a beauty bargain. When it comes to Advent calendars, it's had skin in the game for a number of years, and the Asos 2025 beauty calendar is decent. Asos claims £445 of beauty inside, but based on my calculations, the calendar would cost £356 if you were to buy each item separately. This means you're saving 72%.

Asos says this calendar is selling fast, though we've seen previous years' go on sale at 20% off later in the year, so it could be worth waiting, but of course you do run the risk of it selling out.

It contains 26 products (15 full-size) including popular brands such as Sol De Janeiro, Charlotte Tilbury, Sunday Riley and Bareminerals. Although I'd say Asos' target audience skews towards a younger demographic, this Advent calendar would work really well for all ages – particularly with the inclusion of Elemis and Caudalie.

SOLD OUT Holland & Barrett Beauty Advent Calendar – £50 for £176 of beauty

Holland & Barrett's beauty Advent calendar* costs £50 and is marketed as having over £232 of contents if bought separately. According to my calculations, it would cost £176, which is a saving of 72%.

There are some popular brands inside, but a key omission for me is Ren – Holland & Barrett is often priced very competitively for Ren, so it would've been nice see it included. I struggle to look past featuring two deodorants... I know the meat sweats might hit on Christmas Day, but it doesn't seem very festive.

Holland & Barrett has carved out a niche for itself in terms of the beauty items it stocks, but to me it makes the calendar seem quite repetitive. And yet again... more toothpaste in an Advent calendar.

SOLD OUT Boots Macmillan 24 Doors of Joy Beauty Advent Calendar – £44 (was £90) for £154 of beauty

This Macmillan Advent calendar* is the cheapest we're featuring. Boots doesn't give a calendar 'worth', but based on my calculations, it would cost £154 to buy everything individually – so at £44 (reduced from £90), this is giving you a great 71% saving.

This 24-item calendar contains brands such as Liz Earle, Soap & Glory and No7. I reckon it would be ideal for someone who isn't a self-proclaimed beauty lover, but maybe is looking to dip their toe into a new skincare routine, or try out some new products. It's also a great way to try the No7 Protect & Perfect range on a budget, too. However, I do think it's a bit cheeky to have a separate door for the Liz Earle cloth, which is normally free with the cleanser. Boots says £2 from every calendar sold goes to Macmillan Cancer Support.

SOLD OUT Lookfantastic The Grooming Advent Calendar – £85 for £298 of men's beauty

Shout out to the men who love a pamper. There are some luxurious products in this Lookfantastic grooming calendar* – I'm mainly thinking of the Espa and Avant serums and the Rituals aftershave. Lookfantastic says the contents would cost over £425 individually, but based on my calculations it comes to £298 – quite a bit less, but a saving of over £200 (or 71%) is still decent.

Some products are slightly lacking for me, mainly the scalp 'be-bop' massager and the grooming kit (nail clippers etc – you'll probably get those in your Christmas cracker anyway). Still, there are plenty of useful products in here such as shampoo, shower gel, face creams, and hair products.

SOLD OUT Boots 24 Days of Skin Advent Calendar – £70 for £236 of beauty

Based on my calculations, the contents of this Boots skincare calendar* would cost £236 to buy individually – not too far off Boots' £289 claim. This means you're saving 70%.

This one's all about skincare, and it's full of strong brands. There's a mix of new brands gaining popularity such as Anua, Toboco, and Haruharu Wonder, alongside some firm favourites such as Pixi, Aveeno, and The Inkey List. There are a few multiples of items such as lip products, sheet masks, cleansers, and moisturisers – so make sure you don't open the multiples at once, so they don't expire. Although many ages and skin types could use this calendar, it would definitely suit slightly younger skin that is looking for hydration and a glowy complexion.

Next 25 Days of Beauty Advent Calendar – £95 for £308 of beauty

In the past, Next has really impressed me when it comes to its beauty boxes, though its 2025 beauty calendar is a bit of a rehash of old beauty sets from earlier this year. That said, if it's products you like, then this calendar still presents good value. Next says the contents would cost over £385 if bought individually, and by my calculations it'd be £308. This means you're saving 69%.

The calendar contains 27 products, and this is a good one for those interested in anti-ageing, as you've got a retinol product, a dark spot oil, and a targeted hand cream.

SOLD OUT No7 The Ultimate Beauty Advent Calendar – £175 for £504 of beauty

Boots says the contents of its premium No7 Ultimate beauty calendar* would cost £531 if bought individually, and we calculated that it would cost £504 – a 65% saving. Though, much like the No7 calendar above, if you bought all the products at the same time and factored in No7's 3for2 and other offers currently running, it would actually cost you £310, a 44% saving.

This calendar is for a seasoned No7 lover. With the skincare collection in both No7 calendars being Future Renew, if you're a fan of that particular range, then you're in luck. There's a nice mix of skincare and make-up here, and the Pro Artist make-up might make a nice bundle for a friend or family member if you're in it more for the skincare.

The Body Shop Classic Beauty Advent Calendar – £60 for £127.50 of beauty

The Body Shop beauty calendar is described as '24 moments of pocket-sized love', and that's probably as accurate as you can get. It's a collection of mostly shower gel, shower cream, lip butter, body butter, and hand cream in miniature sizes.

The Body Shop claims the contents would cost £127.50 individually, and that was my calculation too. This means you're saving 53%.
