For your child's birthday

If you create an account with The Entertainer* and register your child to 'Toybox Rewards' (replacing 'Jack's Birthday Club'), for their birthday you’ll receive a code for 10% off an order up to £400 (see help pages for more info).

Make sure to sign up at least three weeks before your child's birthday, as that's when the offer's first sent, or you won't receive the discount until the following year. The discount code is valid for 30 days from the date of issue.

The Entertainer 'up to 50% off' toy sale

Plus buy two, get one free across most toys

You can get up to 50% off selected toys and games online with toy retailer The Entertainer*, or in any of its stores (find your nearest*) while stock lasts for its Black Friday sale which started on Wednesday 12 November.

It's also added a 'buy two, get one free' promotion (get cheapest item free) across the majority of toys online only, so this could be a good way to get some gifts for Christmas. This deal excludes Lego, Pop Mart and Tonies. It ends Monday 1 December.

If shopping online, delivery's £3.99 or free if spending £39.99 or more.

As it's a sale, availability of some items is likely to be limited, so go quick if there's something you're after. Here are a few examples we spotted:

How good is this sale? The Entertainer launched a 50% off sale back in September, so this is more or less the same deal. Last year around a week before Black Friday the sale was up to 70% off, so you may want to wait before purchasing to see if this sale does boost.

It also had save £10 when spending £60, and save £20 when spending £100 both in-store and online via a code Cyber Monday. Again, you might want to wait to see if this returns.

The Entertainer may not always be the cheapest, so be sure to check prices at other retailers too.

Important: Don’t allow yourself to be taken in by the hype around Black Friday and be sucked into buying something you don’t need or can’t afford. Always do your own price comparisons to ensure you are getting the best deal possible – don’t just take a retailer’s word for it.

The Entertainer £10 off a £60 spend*

Or £20 off if spending £100. Excludes Lego, Tonies, Nintendo Switch & gift cards

If you shop online with toy retailer The Entertainer*, you can get £10 off if spending £60 to £99.99, or £20 of if spending £100 or more just enter the code SAVEMORE at the checkout. The offer ends at 11.59pm on Wednesday 1 October. Delivery will be free as the threshold for it is £40.

This could be a good time to get some toys cheaply ahead of Christmas, though make sure you compare prices elsewhere to ensure you're getting the best deal.

The code excludes Lego, Tonies, Nintendo Switch and gift cards. It can't be used alongside any other deal or promotional code, but we tested this code on sale items and it worked.

A few weeks ago, The Entertainer had a similar deal – £5 off Lego products only if spending £50 to £99.99, or £10 off if spending £100 or more. While you're having to spend £10 more to get the discount, this time the deal is less restrictive as it's across more brands.

There's also 50% off toys at Tesco too.

Free protection for all shopping!

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.
And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100. Known as Chargeback, this is part of banks' and card companies' internal rules and not a legal requirement. Read full details of Section 75 or Chargeback, plus how to claim, in our guides.

If a link has an * by it, that means it is an affiliated link and therefore it helps MoneySavingExpert stay free to use, as it is tracked to us. If you go through it, it can sometimes result in a payment or benefit to the site. It's worth noting this means the third party used may be named on any credit agreements.
You shouldn’t notice any difference and the link will never negatively impact the product. Plus the editorial line (the things we write) is NEVER impacted by these links. We aim to look at all available products. If it isn't possible to get an affiliate link for the top deal, it is still included in exactly the same way, just with a non-paying link.
