Emily has over six years of experience in journalism, starting her career as a local news reporter in 2018 before joining MSE in May 2021. She has tackled a range of critical topics at MSE, including consumer rights, energy, debt, and financial regulation.

Some of Emily's biggest stories include Ryanair's barring of customers who received Covid refunds, the shutdown of tax rebate firm Tax Credits Ltd for forgery, and discrepancies in the Warm Home Discount scheme. These stories have been covered by some of the UK's biggest newspaper outlets, including the Daily Mirror, the Daily Express, The Sun and The Guardian.

Emily has earned several award wins and nominations, including winning the Rising Star of the Year Award at the Headline Money Awards in 2023 and being shortlisted for the Wincott Foundation's Personal Finance Journalist of the Year Award alongside MSE founder Martin Lewis. In 2022, she also won an MHP's 30Under30 Young Journalist Award in the Personal Finance category.

Outside of journalism, Emily is passionate about writing plays and short fiction, and enjoys hiking, running, and reading.

An investigation by the BBC appears to have uncovered the people behind a plague of scam adverts featuring MoneySavingExpert.com (MSE) founder Martin Lewis, as well as others. The BBC says many of the ads are run by a single global network of scammers, while nearly a third of UK victims told the BBC they were lured in because the ads featured Martin.

Sainsbury's shoppers with a Nectar card can now get discounts on around 300 items in store and online with the supermarket's new 'Nectar Prices' scheme. Pricing's been cut by between 15% and 60% on items in the scheme, so if you're planning to buy these items at Sainsbury's anyway, then scanning your Nectar card (or getting one if you don't already have one) is a no-brainer. Tesco is making five major changes over the coming three months, which include changing the number of Clubcard points you earn at it forecourts from one point per £2 to one point per two litres of fuel from 14 June. Stamp prices to rise by up to 15%
Standard stamp prices are to rise by up to 16%, Royal Mail has confirmed. From Monday 3 April, the cost of first-class stamps will be hiked to £1.10 (up 15p from 95p), while second-class stamps will increase to 75p (up 7p from 68p).

Tax-free pension limits raised
The maximum annual tax-free amount you can save into a pension once you've taken money out of it will rise from £4,000 to £10,000 from 6 April. Meanwhile, the amount you can save into your pension tax-free each year is also set to rise, as is the amount you can save into pensions over a lifetime. The shake-up was announced by the Chancellor Jeremy Hunt in today's Budget.
