People in England aged up to 60 who want to study, train or retrain will be able to access flexible student finance to help them do so from 2025, the Government has confirmed today. The new higher education loan scheme, dubbed the 'lifelong loan entitlement', will be worth the equivalent of four years of post-18 education. Here's what we know so far.

Credit providers SafetyNet and Tappily have collapsed into administration and stopped taking on new customers – but there's no immediate change for existing borrowers. Both former and existing customers can still submit mis-selling complaints, though there's no guarantee you'll get anything back.

Customers of collapsed rent-to-own company BrightHouse, who may have been mis-sold high cost loans, will not get any money back after the firm's joint administrators said there wasn't enough cash to refund people. However, those still repaying BrightHouse loans must continue to do so as the debts have now been sold on.
