UK holidaymakers could be banned from visiting EU countries next year as Brits may fall under non-EU travel restrictions - in place to help stop the spread of coronavirus - when the Brexit process is finalised. 

Millions of EU citizens who live in the UK will soon be able to apply for a new European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), which will give them access to free or discounted healthcare across Europe next year – but the situation for most Brits still remains unclear with less than a month to go until the end of the Brexit transition period.

Easyjet passengers will soon only be able to take a single small bag which fits under the seat in front of them into the cabin unless they pay extra, as the airline's slashing its hand luggage allowance.

Over 9,000 Lastminute.com holidaymakers will finally receive refunds for package trips that were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, after intervention from the competition watchdog. 

Travellers arriving in England will soon be able to cut the 14-day mandatory quarantine period by more than half if they take a coronavirus test five days after coming into the country and get a negative result.

Nationwide is to reduce the level of cover its FlexPlus travel insurance offers for cancellation due to coronavirus, in a blow to holidaymakers with the popular packaged bank account. Under changes to FlexPlus cover that will apply to all trips booked from January, a new Foreign Office warning against travel will no longer be sufficient grounds for a cancellation payout.

The information watchdog has fined British Airways £20 million for failing to protect the personal and financial details of some of its customers during a data breach in 2018.

Travellers returning to the UK from Italy, San Marino and Vatican City will have to self-isolate for 14 days from 4am on Sunday 18 October.
